Gorakhpur Airport

Gorakhpur Airport (IATA: GOP, ICAO: VEGK) is an airport located in Gorakhpur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The Airports Authority of India operates it as a civil enclave at the Gorakhpur Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. The airport has a limited number of commercial flights, connected only to Delhi Airport. Distance to city from airport is 8 km, Gorakhpur Airport has a single building with a common arrival and departure hall. Currently Air India Regional is the only carrier to operate flight to the airport.

Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur is a city located along the banks of Rapti river in the eastern part of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located near the Nepal border, 273 kilometres east of the state capital Lucknow. It is the administrative headquarter of Gorakhpur District and Gorakhpur Division. The city is home to the Gorakshanath Temple (Gorakhnath Math) and world famous (Geeta Press).It is also the head quarter of North Eastern Railway and proud owner of World longest platform.
